Where is our Democracy?
Demos + Kratos = Empowered Citizens
... come and join The Deliberation ...
... come and join The Deliberation ...
We face existential crisis,
but two thirds of the world’s population live in autocracies,
and existing Representative Democracies, with their failed systems of checks and balances, of ignored electorates and accountability limited to periodic elections, are clearly insufficient to justice, sustainability, and legitimacy.
We need better.
We need properly considered discussions and plans for our shared future,
just and agreed policy and law,
regulatory and legal observance,
just and agreed monitoring, and just enforcement,
and to get these things,
we need to legitimise our Democracies.
Here visitors will find explanations
showing how our Democracies might be restructured to address the systemic weaknesses of established Representative forms by bringing to bear the considered intelligence of whole electorates through use of Deliberative Democratic principles and forms
and,
about campaigning for the immediate incorporation of Empowered Sortitioned Deliberative Citizens Forums within our existing Representative Democracies, to vest Sovereign Power with citizens ... where it should be in a Democracy.

A better world is waiting, crisis are not.
“There is a mass of sense lying in a dormant state which good government should quietly harness,”
(Thomas Paine, 1791).
“The ultimate hidden truth of the world is that it is something we can make, and could just as easily make differently”
(David Graeber - cited by David Wengrow, Guardian 31st October 2021)
We host our "All-Comers Fully Welcome Meet" on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. To attend please get in touch using info@deliberativedemocracy.net
